Aside from my professional aspirations, I have personal goals that I work on achieving every day. Sometimes I take one step forward and two steps back, sometimes I just keep marching forward. But all in all, I keep the carrot dangling in front of my face to keep my eyes on the prize.
My Goals:
Graduate from collegeUpdate my resume and networking card- Learn to play guitar (acoustic or electric, I haven’t decided yet)
- Get started on learning another language (Spanish or German)
- Start Krav Maga lessons
- Learn html, CSS, Javascript so I can build my own website
- Actually Build my own website
- Launch Business (still in the works)
Beat my friend in Mortal Kombat 9- Write at least 5 chapters of my novel
- Learn to cook 1 gourmet dish a month (November, December, January)
- Learn to make 1 desert a month (November, December, January)
- Blog at least once a month
- Make a video resume (even though it’s almost not HR-friendly)
I do not think you need to be motivated. I think you are doing pretty well. I love your blog. You have done a good job there. If you are going to learn a language learn Spanish, because it is a romance language, later it will be easy for you to learn French, Italian, Portuguese and Portuguese from Brazil. It sounds as their alfabet sounds. You like to cook…I like to cook too, specially when I have friends coming over to enjoy my wonders. Make a video resume???? that sounds cheesseee. Anyway you sound like a very interesting person, I do not think you need a video.
I apologize for the extremely-delayed response…I’ve been a little out of commission the past few months. But I’m back. Thank you for your kind words =) I think I will get started on learning Spanish– I’m realizing that I interact with a lot of Spanish-speaking people these days. And YESSSS, I LOOOOOOOOOOVE cooking. I wish I had more free time and money to learn good recipes. I’m a bit of a foodie (I blame my friends). Also, in regard to the video blog… I decided against it– it gives HR professionals ammo to discriminate against someone based on looks, gender, race, etc. even if it’s unintentional.
